Description and Characteristics

Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral with a metallic luster and a brassy coloring. It comes from the cubic crystal system and has an opaque transparency and a brittle texture. Pyrite crystals can contain small amounts of real gold, where the pyrite and gold atoms are mixed together. For visible gold in pyrite, it remains unclear whether it resulted from remobilization of invisible gold in the gold-hosting pyrite or from external natural input.    

Pyrite Metaphysical Properties

Pyrite is a powerful protection stone that shields the wearer from all forms of negative energies and environmental pollutants by working and healing on the physical, etheric and emotional levels.

People use Pyrite in various ways, such as in jewelry for its aesthetic and metaphysical properties as well as in meditation or spiritual work to enhance clarity and focus.

Using Baking Soda and Water

● Make a homemade cleaning paste by mixing one-part water and three parts baking soda in a small bowl. 

● Wet the silver and use a soft, microfiber cloth or sponge to apply the paste. 

● Work in a small area at a time and gently rub in circles to remove the tarnish. 

● Rinse away the baking soda paste with cool water, and immediately use a microfiber cloth to dry and buff the silver to shine.

Sterling silver tarnishes when exposed to salty air, chlorine, sulfur, humidity, perspiration, cosmetics, household bleach or other strong chemicals. Store your silver jewelry away from heat, and out of sunlight, in a cool and dark location. Avoid storing multiple pieces of jewelry together, so that they don’t become tangled or scratched.

PYRITE CRYSTAL CARE:

If cleaning pyrite jewelry with water, rinse them in running water. Then neutralize them in a mixture of water and baking soda.

Be sure to thoroughly dry any and all metal settings so as to prevent oxidation. They will be a beautiful, shiny, silvery color. 

Store pyrite stones and jewelry away from other materials to avoid marring the surface of the pyrite or causing scratches.

Pyrite is an iron sulphate mineral which can oxidize when exposed to water for long periods. Leaving it in water can cause the sulphur to leach out in said water, which will break the Pyrite down into iron oxide.

EXCHANGES

• To exchange the item you ordered, please make a separate purchase for the new item

• If packages are returned to FAMOUS WITH BRAIN due to an incorrect shipping address provided by a customer, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost as well as the redelivery cost

REFUND

• Refunds are processed 5 to 7 business days after receiving your return. Please allow a further 7 business days for your refund to appear on your bank statement before contacting us
